1Two dates in law

Decision No. 189/2026, published in the Official Gazette (No. 1660, 9 August 2026), set two mandatory dates.

1 April 2027For taxable persons whose annual supplies exceed OMR 5 million.
1 October 2027For every other VAT registered business, which is where almost every shop, clinic and small office sits.

If your date is 1 October 2027, you are not late. Confirm your own date with the Tax Authority: it is the only reference on this.

2What a structured invoice carries

An electronic invoice is not a PDF or a picture sent on WhatsApp. It is data in fields a machine reads:

3Open the last 10 invoices you issued and ask

  1. Can anyone change the amount, a line or a price of an invoice after it is issued?
  2. Are your numbers sequential across every branch and every till, and is the reason for every cancellation on record?
  3. Does each line carry its own tax treatment, or is there one rate on the whole document?
  4. When a line is exempt, does the invoice state the ground for the exemption?
  5. If you reprint an invoice from two years ago, does it show the rate it was charged at that day?
  6. Can you produce the same invoice in Arabic?

4Where Nizro stands

Nizro issues a structured tax invoice today: tax on every line, the ground for an exemption written on it, sequential numbering, and no amount, VAT, line or price changes after issue.

It is built to connect to Fawtara through a service provider when your business is onboarded. Nizro is not a service provider, and it sends no invoice to the Tax Authority today.
